Safety Training

At Alberta Lift, we are able to facilitate all of your training needs. We offer a variety of operator training courses including fall protection training, aerial work platform training, and forklift (telehandler) training. Our training courses include a theory component and practical evaluation, and are delivered by experienced, certified instructors.

Fall Protection Essentials & Aerial Work Platform Combo Course

FALL PROTECTION 8:30 – 11:45

LUNCH 11:45 – 12:30

AERIAL WORK PLATFORM 12:30 – 5:00

*To be registered for the afternoon AWP Course, registrants MUST be enrolled in the morning FPE Course. Participants can enroll in FP without staying for AWP.

** Fall Protection content will be based primarily for use on AWPs, for more in-depth fall protection, please consider one of our other courses.

 

                   Fall Protection Essentials               

8:30am – 12:00pm or

 1:30pm – 430pm 

This half-day end user program will allow you to understand the essentials of fall protection as it relates to simple systems and work at heights.

This course is suitable for individuals whose work environment is relatively homogeneous, (i.e. individuals who work only within the setting of an aerial work platform or scaffolding). The anchor point is consistent and established and your equipment choice is static.

Fall Protection Comprehensive

8:30am – 4:30pm (45 min lunch break)

This full day end user program will allow you to understand the use of fall protection, as it relates to what you do at height. Various fall protection options exist, this course will identify which options may best meet your needs, and give you the tools and knowledge to work at height safely.

Fall Protection Oil Sands (OSSA)

8:30am – 4:30pm (45 min lunch break)

This full day end user program is developed by Fall Protection Group and is accredited by the Oil Sands Safety Association (OSSA). The program will allow you to understand the use of fall protection, as it relates to what you do at height. 

Various fall protection options exist, this course will identify which options may best meet your needs, and give you the tools and knowledge to work at height safely.

Aerial Work Platform

8:30am – 3:30pm (45 min lunch break)

This full day Aerial Work Platform course will allow you to understand the care, use, maintenance, operation and limitations of a selection of AWPs including scissor lifts and self-propelled boom lift. The program will enhance the operator’s abilities to operate equipment proficiently and safely and broaden operator’s understandings of their roles as defined by Alberta Occupational Health & Safety. Components of the course include a theory information portion and a practical evaluation.

Variable Reach Forklift

8:30am – 3:30pm (45 min lunch break)

This full day course covers the care, use, maintenance, operation and limitations of Variable Reach Rough Terrain Forklifts (aka. Zoom booms, telehandlers etc.) The program will enhance the operator’s abilities to operate equipment proficiently and safely and broaden operator’s understandings of their roles as defined by Alberta Occupational Health & Safety.

Components of the course include a theory information portion and a practical evaluation.
